The last day of the Liberty Seminars 2012 was another opportunity for the participants to shine. Early in the week the participants were divided into four groups. At that point each group picked a debate leader, who was in charge of organizing the work of the team throughout the week when the team was preparing for the debates. Each team also selected two individuals who debated on the sixth day of the Liberty Seminars 2012. Dr. Daniel Mitchell and Dr. Doug Bandow served as judges.
While first two teams (one from each seminar) debated the topic related to economic liberties, the second two debated the topic related to civil liberties.
-- DEBATE 1: The winning team from the Liberty Academy (Yannick Šušteršič from Slovenia and Iryna Tumanova from Ukraine) argued for "The State Should Not Legalize Gay Marriage". The Liberty Camp team (Barbara Stempien from Poland and Jan Czada from Germany) fought well but were a bit short for the win.
-- DEBATE 2: The winning team from the Liberty Academy (Aliaksandr Papko from Belarus and Łukasz Jakacki from Poland) argued for "The State Should Not Provide Subsidies". The Liberty Camp team (Anna Czepiel from Poland and Martin Belan from Slovakia) offered a great resistance but were a bit short too.
After the debates we embarked on the last act of the Liberty Seminars 2012—graduation!
Before we went into separate directions of the world, we posed for one last group photo.
